Welcome to my honest review of the best rebounder exercise trampolines for adults! For the record, a rebounder is the same as a mini trampoline, a fitness trampoline, and an exercise trampoline.
Rebounding has a ton of benefits, especially for weight loss. Even though the scientific research on the topic is not as extensive as it should be, it does sound very promising. And I can tell you from personal experience the benefits are plenty! I lost over 20 lbs, got rid of my cellulite, and I feel full of energy all the time.
Many personal trainers also swear by rebounding. Ashley Borden, a celebrity fitness and lifestyle consultant, who has worked with Christina Aguilera, Natasha Bedingfield, and Ryan Gosling, says:
“What I highly recommend to my clients that have injuries, is rebounding. Rebounding has no stress on your joints and ligaments and helps to prevent osteoporosis. It helps to activate all your muscles so it activates your metabolic system immediately and it’s fun.”
How I tested and reviewed the mini trampolines
As a fitness maniac with years of experience in exploring various workout regimes, I have gone above and beyond when writing this article. It has taken me a month of research and testing to publish it. But it was worth it!
So, yes, I've researched and tested every product mentioned in this guide, cross-referenced with user reviews, and vetted against the highest industry standards. It's my personal experience coupled with a lot of other helpful information I found.
Read on for a full (perhaps the fullest on the web) comparison of mini fitness trampolines based on size and weight capacity, bounce quality, frame construction, safety features, noise level, portability, and price. You can find more details about how I compared the trampolines here.

My Review of the Best Rebounder Exercise Trampolines for Adults
Cellerciser® Tri-Fold Pro Rebounder w/New Streamlined balance bar - Best High-End Rebounder
Specs
✔ Patented TriDaptable® spring, adjusting to your weight; ✔ Patented tri-fold design; ✔ All-steel frame;
✔ Premium UV-resistant mat; ✔ Adjustable stabilizer bar; ✔ Lifetime warranty;
My Rating - 4.9/5
One of my friends says the Cellerciser® is the Cadillac of mini fitness trampolines. I think he has a point. I got my Cellerciser® 3 years ago and it's still in perfect shape. Because of the special tri-daptable (or three-section) springs it is much easier to jump on. It might not be as much fun for many people but I personally feel better after jumping on my Cellerciser®.
My mom has joint issues and she says this is much gentler on her joints than other mini trampolines I've asked her to try. She said "I can get a more intense workout, with less stress on my body."
Some people complain about the sounds and there may be something to that. It is a spring rebounder, after all. I wasn't bothered too much by it, but my mom was, so we put a bit of SuperLube synthetic grease on the attachment hooks of the springs.
Pros
Cons
Size and weight capacity - 5/5
With a 40-inch frame, the Cellerciser® is big enough for most people to jump on. The build is sturdy and comfortably supports up to 300 lbs. The website claims it can support up to 400 lbs.
Bounce quality - 5/5
I'd say the bounce is controlled. It's softer than what you'd normally expect from a spring mini trampoline. But it's not as deep as most bungee mini trampolines. The result is that you don't get tired so easily because you don't sink as much as you would on a softer mat.
Frame construction - 5/5
The all-steel construction is really durable and it feels stable when you jump. The springs are stainless steel. Even after three years, it stands strong without any creaks or wobbles.
Safety features - 5/5
The adjustable stabilizer bar and non-slip mat make the workout environment completely safe. They reduce the risk of falls or slips. I've never had any issues myself.
Noise level - 4/5
Like I said, I've no issues with the sound but, as a spring trampoline, it does make some sounds. It's not as loud as other spring trampolines, but I give this a lower rating just so you know and keep it in mind.
Assembly - 4.5/5
I've had issues assembling each and every rebounder I've owned. Setting the Cellerciser® up was straightforward, though. Folding and unfolding required a bit of strength initially, but it became easier with practice.
Portability - 5/5
Even though it's robust, the Cellerciser® is very portable. The Trifold design and included carrying case help me carry it wherever I go. Best of all, the legs fold! You don't have to unscrew them. Very few other mini trampolines do this.
Price - 4/5
Don't get me wrong... I love my Cellerciser®! It's absolutely worth the money. But it's far from affordable and I can't not mention that. If the handlebar isn't extremely important to you, you can get the Bi-fold Cellerciser® without handlebar at a much better price point. And if do want a handlebar but you don't care about portability as much, you can get the Bi-fold Cellerciser® with handlebar. You can read even more in my full Cellerciser® review here.
BCAN 40/48" Foldable Mini Trampoline - Best Value For Money & Best Mini Trampoline For Heavy Adults
Specs
✔ Second-generation thickened steel frame 3 mm; ✔ Heavy-duty handlebar; ✔ 4 bar levels 30" to 41";
✔ Waterproof PP mat; ✔ Anti-scratch, easy to clean; ✔ Lifetime service;
My Rating - 4.8/5
Don’t mistake the BCAN 40/48" rebounder trampoline for the BCAN 38" rebounder. Same brand, different product. I ordered both and I think the BCAN 48-inch is much better quality. It’s a great option for those looking for a compact, quiet, and stable mini trampoline. For me, the only downside was that it required some effort to fold, but it is a good heavyweight option because of its large weight capacity.
Amazon Rating: 4.5 out of 5 based on 8,896 reviews
Positive Reviews: "I've been using the exercise trampoline for a while now, and I'm genuinely impressed with the results. It's become my go-to for fun and effective workouts."
Negative Reviews: "The handlebars are not that easy to setup though. Last two screws or whatever they are for the handlebars, I haven't even used them as I can't get them to fit. It is a stable good rebounder."
Pros
Cons
Size and weight capacity - 5/5
This compact mini trampoline comes in a 40- and 48-inch diameter. If you’re looking for a heavyweight mini trampoline, the 40-inch bungee version can hold up to 450 pounds and the 48-inch spring version can hold up to 440 lbs. The 40-inch spring version can hold up to 330 pounds, which is still great.
Bounce quality - 5/5
The bounce on the BCAN 40”- 48” felt sturdy and strong in my tests, with a nice shock-absorbing effect. This is a great part of what makes it the best rebounder trampoline on my list.
Frame construction - 5/5
This trampoline is well-built with a sturdy 3 mm thick steel frame and legs. Some people have reported issues with durability, although I haven’t experienced those myself.
Safety features - 4/5
Safety first, my friend! The BCAN 40" and 48" trampolines come with a removable safety bar and 360-degree safety pad that ensure your feet don't get caught in the springs. However, the safety bar did feel a bit wobbly in my tests.
Noise level - 4.5/5
If you're worried about disturbing your neighbors or family members, fear not! I tested all models and I can tell you the BCAN 40/48 inch trampoline rebounder is relatively quiet (even the spring models).
Assembly - 5/5
The assembly is a no-brainer! I was up and jumping in no time. Check out the video below to see how it's done.
Portability - 4/5
This trampoline is lightweight and folds up to less than 1/4 of its size. I found it difficult to fold this mini trampoline with the handlebar attached. I had to unscrew that to fold the trampoline.
Price - 5/5
My extensive tests show the BCAN 40/48" is the best rebounder to buy around the $100 mark.
Ativafit 40" Fitness Trampoline - Best All-Rounder for Family Use
Specs
✔ Stainless steel frame; ✔ T-shaped handlebar; ✔ Three handlebar levels (42.3” - 50.2”);
✔ PP jumping mat; ✔ Bungee and steel spring models; ✔ 1-year warranty;
My Rating - 4.7/5
Next on my list is the Ativafit 40" Rebounder Trampoline. This is a well-made and reasonably priced all-rounder that my entire family loved! I found it tricky to assemble, but it offers an excellent, quiet bounce. When folded, it is very compact, but otherwise, it can take up a lot of real estate.
Amazon Rating: 4.5 out of 5 based on 878 reviews
Positive Reviews: "Very sturdy and higher quality than I expected for the price. Thought I’d want/need the safety bar for steadiness but turns out I don’t; good to have for future use, if needed."
Negative Reviews: "The higher the bar goes, the more likely it is to tip over. Back pegs lift off of the ground when my older children (8,12,14) are jumping on it while holding onto the adjusted bar."
Pros
Cons
Size and weight capacity - 5/5
The Ativafit trampoline is 40" in size and can hold up to 330 lbs. Like the leader in my fitness trampoline list, BCAN 40/48", Ativafit can take up more real estate than other models. It was almost too big for my living room, so make sure to measure your space.
Bounce quality - 5/5
The bounce is excellent! I loved jumping on this rebounder! Nothing more to add. 😀
Frame construction - 5/5
This adult rebounder is well-made and sturdy, with a heavy-duty frame and PP jumping mat.
Safety features - 4.5/5
The Ativafit 40" rebounder exerciser has a foam-covered handlebar and rubber-tipped legs that provide excellent stability. The handlebar height is adjustable, but it almost tipped over when I set the bar to the highest.
Noise level - 5/5
This 40" fitness trampoline is surprisingly quiet, which is most likely due to the fact that it uses bungee cords instead of springs.
Portability - 4.5/5
I didn't have any issues folding the Ativafit mini trampoline. It's lightweight and easy to move. I had to remove the bar before folding, though.
Assembly - 4/5
My only problem with this exercise trampoline was the assembly. That was no easy feat!
Price - 5/5
I think it is a very good price for the quality of the product.
Darchen 40-Inch Rebounder Trampoline - Best for Frequent Use
Specs
✔ Heavy-duty steel frame; ✔ Bar sold separately; ✔ Bar height 41-47"; ✔ PP jumping mat;
✔ Bungee and steel spring models available; ✔ 1-year warranty;
My Rating - 4.6/5
In my experience, the Darchen 40-inch rebounder trampoline is a great buy if you’re looking for a sturdy, quiet, and safe rebounder to use for regular exercise. I kept this one for a few months in my basement and enjoyed every minute of bouncing on it! I think the price point is reasonable for what it offers, and the size and weight capacity make it accessible for most. Again, my biggest hurdle was the assembly. It was exhausting! At least I only had to do it once...
Amazon Rating: 4.3 out of 5 based on 3,075 reviews
Positive Reviews: "It doesn't squeak like the spring type and it has a firm rebound. If you follow the directions, it will make the installation of the bungees easier."
Negative Reviews: "Unfortunately, I could not get this rebounder assembled. I found it way too difficult to stretch the bungees. It was quite literally a workout just trying to get the bungees, stretched and hooked up."
Pros
Cons
Size and weight capacity - 5/5
At 40 inches wide, this mini trampoline is a great size and has a good weight capacity of up to 350 - 400 lbs. I was happy there was a choice between springs and bungee ropes.
Bounce Quality - 4.5/5
Still, in my tests, the Darchen 40-inch trampoline provided a good bounce. I think it's suitable for all types of rebounding exercises.
Frame construction - 4.5/5
This rebounder's frame feels sturdy and well-built, and the bungee cords are very strong. So strong, I struggled to put the trampoline together on my own. It survived a few months of regular use in my home, so I think it's sturdy enough.
Safety features - 4.5/5
The skirt that goes over the bungee straps provides jumping safety. There are six heavy-duty steel legs give you excellent stability. I also bought the handle for extra support.
Noise level - 5/5
I found the models with bungee cords nice and quiet. The one with the springs… not so much. I got the one with the bungees and loved how quiet it was! Compared to cheaper models, the Darchen mini trampoline was incredibly quiet!
Portability - 4/5
While it doesn't fold for storage, it stayed behind a chair in my basement. I also tried and it fit under my bed. It's mostly easy to store.
Assembly - 3/5
Only the spring model comes pre-assembled. For the bungee models… let’s say I wouldn't do it if I’ve just had my upper body day 😬
Price - 4/5
I'd say this rebounder by Darchen has a good price point, considering its features. I was a bit annoyed that the handlebar was sold separately, but this also means you can save if you don’t want it.
Pelpo Trampoline Rebounder - Best Affordable Mini Trampoline
Specs
✔ High-quality steel frame; ✔ Handlebar and resistance band options; ✔ 4 bar heights (32'' to 42”);
✔ Waterproof PP mat; ✔ 24/7 after-sales service;
My Rating - 4.5/5
I thought this rebounder was too cheap to be true with all the things it offered. And Pelpo mini trampoline has some small flaws, such as the difficulty in folding and storing. But, overall, I found it sturdy. It gave me a good bounce quality and it is reasonably priced. I think it's a good choice if you’re looking for an affordable, compact exercise trampoline.
Amazon Rating: 4.4 out of 5 based on 4,535 reviews
Positive Reviews: "It’s small, but large enough to jump on. It was super easy to put together and the bounce is firm but yet springy. I am completely satisfied with this unit."
Negative Reviews: "It’s advertised as “folding”, but that is misleading. In order to “fold“ you’d have to unscrew everything to break it down to hide away."
Pros
Cons
Size and weight capacity - 4/5
The Pelpo rebounder trampoline comes in various sizes, including 38-inch, 40-inch, and 45-inch, with a weight capacity ranging between 159 to 330 pounds. Be sure to check the weight limit before purchasing because it varies greatly. I found it very confusing that you also have to choose between bungees and springs. I think it has too many options.
The 45-inch model also comes with resistance bands. I got that one and I think those can be a nice challenge.
Bounce Quality - 4.5/5
I'd say the Pelpo rebounder has “the right amount of bounce”. It’s a good bounce, suitable for both beginners and pros.
Frame construction - 5/5
With an alloy steel frame, the Pelpo rebounder trampoline felt quite sturdy and well-constructed.
Safety features - 5/5
The Pelpo mini fitness trampoline comes with a foam-padded handlebar as well as a safety pad.
Noise level - 4/5
The spring version did produce some squeaky sounds that varied in loudness when I was jumping. Applying WD-40 on the springs seemed to help a bit, but the effect didn't last long. If you want a completely silent bounce, consider the bungee version. Overall, both models of this trampoline are relatively quiet but the spring version has its squeaks.
Assembly - 4/5
Ah, the assembly... This rebounder was omewhat difficult to assemble, especially because when I had to push hard to straighten it into a full circle. The handlebar also had one too many parts.
Portability - 4.5/5
Pelpo mini exercise trampoline is portable but, for me, it was difficult to fold.
Price 4.5/5
The price varies depending on the size and the construction (bungees or springs), ranging from around $70 to $100. Either way, I think it's a good price for what it offers!
BCAN 38" Foldable Mini Trampoline - Best Budget Option Under $100
Specs
✔ 3 mm thickened steel frame; ✔ No handlebar; ✔ Stainless steel springs;
✔ Waterproof PP mat; ✔ Lifetime service;
My Rating - 4.4/5
When I was trying this brand, I first got the BCAN 38-inch Rebounding Trampoline. I have to say it's a great option for indoor use, with solid construction and good bounce quality. But it was a bit noisy and difficult to fold in my tests. Still, I think if you’re looking for an affordable and fun way to get bouncing, this is a great option!
Amazon Rating: 4.4 out of 5 based on 2,702 reviews
Positive Reviews: "No trouble putting together, mostly pre assembled. No noise when using. Great firmness in mat."
Negative Reviews: "After a few months of use I've noticed it's getting noisier and noisier. I've tried lubricating the springs but it hasn't helped a lot."
Pros
Cons
Size and weight capacity - 5/5
I think this mini trampoline has the universal 38-inch diameter and this makes this one of the best fitness trampolines. At the same time, it can hold up to 300 pounds! My whole family tried it and a few friends and I can say it's suitable for all body types and perfect for limited spaces.
Bounce quality - 4/5
In my tests, the trampoline offered a firm and enjoyable bounce, but it can be squeaky and loud due to the metal springs.
Frame construction - 4.5/5
With a thickened steel frame, this trampoline felt sturdy and heavy-duty. But it was also lightweight.
Assembly - 4/5
Putting the BCAN 38” mini trampoline together was fairly straightforward. However, I did notice that, at times, parts can come loose. A couple of times, I had to tighten the legs by screwing them in more securely.
Safety features - 4/5
A 360-degree safety pad protects you from accidentally pinching your toes on the springs. It doesn’t have a handlebar. This can actually be an advantage because you don’t have to unscrew it every time you want to put the trampoline away.
Noise level - 3.5/5
For a mini trampoline, it does make some noise, including squeaking, but I wouldn't say it's extremely loud.
Portability - 4/5
I thought it was easy to assemble and disassemble, but it was a bit tricky to fold and unfold. Keep in mind that the legs aren’t foldable, so you will need to unscrew them.
Price - 4.5/5
My verdict is this rebounder trampoline is good value for its price.
RAVS Mini Trampoline - Best Sturdy And Spacious Mini Trampoline
Specs
✔ Steel frame; ✔ Bar and resistance bands included; ✔ 5 handlebar levels (38 - 46”);
✔ Anti-slip PP jumping mat; ✔ Stainless steel springs; ✔ 1-year warranty;
My Rating - 4.4/5
Spacious, sturdy, and a wee bit squeaky, RAVS Mini Rebounder Trampoline is one of the best mini trampolines for adults that I tested. The weight capacity is impressive and, thanks to the handlebar, it can also be used safely by kids! My five-year-old nephew had a ton of fun jumping on it 😊
Amazon Rating: 4.4 out of 5 based on 1,819 reviews
Positive Reviews: "I was pleased because it was much bigger than I envisioned, which gives me a larger surface to help keep myself stable while jogging."
Negative Reviews: "I bought this one with the springs because of the pricing, and boy do I regret it. It's SO loud and squeaky!!"
Pros
Cons
Size and weight capacity - 4.5/5
I found the RAVS exercise trampoline for adults to be both sturdy and spacious! It comes in two sizes — 40" (up to 350 lbs) and 48" (up to 450 lbs). I got the larger one and my dad, who was always worried the other mini trampolines weren't strong enough, jumped on it with no issues. I liked the resistance bands because they helped me spice up my rebounder fitness routine, but I didn't think they were very effective.
Bounce quality - 4/5
I'd say if you’re looking for a good, sturdy bounce, the RAVS mini trampoline certainly has it!
Frame construction - 5/5
Sturdy and stable, this mini trampoline is made of high-quality steel materials. It did feel good.
Safety features - 4/5
The trampoline has a safety cover to prevent toes from getting stuck. I liked that I could adjust the handlebar for different heights. This way my entire family could use it.
Noise level - 4/5
I won't hide this... The RAVS exercise trampoline was a bit squeaky, like some of the other spring trampolines.
Portability - 4/5
It was easy to unfold but not easy to fold back up. I though it was easier to leave it in the basement or another convenient place to use regularly.
Assembly - 4.5/5
Surprisingly for me, it was easy to assemble and relatively easy to disassemble, even thought I had to remove the handle and unscrew all eight legs!
Price - 4.5/5
Not the cheapest rebounder, but I’d say you get a good value for money, considering all the extras.
Stamina 36" Mini Fitness Trampoline Rebounder - Best Beginner Rebounder
Specs
✔ Rugged, all-steel frame; ✔ No handlebar; ✔ Spring-free (tension bands);
✔ PP jumping mat; ✔ Smart workout app; ✔ 1-year limited warranty (90 days on parts);
My Rating - 4.3/5
I'd say the Stamina Rebounder Trampoline is a solid budget choice for beginners and seniors. It has a sturdy frame, safety features, and quiet bounce that make it a great option for small spaces and indoor use. Even though it doesn’t provide the same bounce quality as the best-quality rebounders on this list, I think it is still an effective way to get a low-impact workout in your home. My 80-year-old grandma loved it!
Amazon Rating: 4.4 out of 5 based on 15,192 reviews
Positive Reviews: "A good quality mini trampoline at a good price - fun for kids and adults!"
Negative Reviews: "Stiff, not soft like others but overall ok value"
Pros
Cons
Size and weight capacity - 3.5/5
The Stamina Exercise Trampoline Rebounder can hold up to 250 pounds of weight. It has two variants — one round, measuring 36 inches in diameter, and one oval, 45 inches wide. I also bought the additional bungee pull cords for arm exercises, but they weren't very challenging for me. They are OK for light exercises and arm toning.
⚠️ It may not be suitable for heavier individuals, as it may sag in the middle. One of my friends had this issue and then I found that a lot of other people were having it.
Bounce quality - 3/5
Unlike most fitness trampolines for adults that come with bundgees or springs, this one comes with elastic resistance bands for a quiet workout. The bounce felt decent, but firm. I'd say it lacks the "give" of higher-end models, making jumps short and low. Keep in mind the elastic bands loosen up over time, so they provide a slightly better experience.
Frame construction - 4.5/5
Stamina Mini Trampoline is built with a sturdy frame that features six feet with rubber tips for stability and durability. I liked that the 45-inch oval model also includes a padded handlebar for added support during workouts.
Safety features - 4/5
Besides the locking pins, screw-on legs and safety pad, this adult exercise trampoline also comes with a lining that makes it easier for you to stay away from the bands. Still, because it’s lightweight, it might not be very stable for some people.
Noise level - 5/5
The Stamina Rebounder Trampoline is very quiet during use. I think it's one of the best at home rebounders, especially for people who live in apartments. After all, it has no springs…
Portability - 5/5
It was easy for me to fold it in four, but the unfolding was a bit challenging.
Assembly - 4/5
The assembly was challenging. I even asked my dad to help because it came folded in four. But once we figured that part out, screwing the legs on was a no-brainer.
Price - 4.5/5
At $50-$60 for the base model, I'd say it's the best cheap rebounder you can get if you don’t want to make a big investment.
ONETWOFIT - Best Large Surface Bungee Rebounder
Specs
✔ Stainless steel frame; ✔ T-shaped handlebar; ✔ 4 bar levels (42" to 50");
✔ Anti-wear-and-tear PP mesh mat; ✔ Thickened bungee ropes; ✔ 1-year warranty;
My Rating - 4.1/5
ONETWOFIT rebounder trampoline surprised me with how big and spacious it was. I think it is a good option if you’re looking for a budget-friendly rebounder that is well-made, provides a smooth silent bounce, and has ample jumping space. Guess what the biggest downside was for me? Yes, the assembly. It can be challenging. Also, the handlebar wobble d a bit when I started jumping. I think this might have something to do with the T-shape or the material.
Amazon Rating: 4.5 out of 5 based on 647 reviews
Positive Reviews: "This rebounder has a great bounce for a first timer."
Negative Reviews: "I am impressed with the stability and quality of this piece. My weight is 265 lbs and it is definitely strong enough to hold someone at the 350 weight limit."
Pros
Cons
Size and weight capacity - 4.5/5
ONETWOFIT rebounder mini trampoline provides ample jumping space thanks to its 48” or 50” octagonal mat. It has a weight capacity of up to 330 pounds. My dad, who is a bit of a bigger person, found it very comfortable.
Bounce quality - 4/5
This mini exercise trampoline offered a good bounce quality in my tests. It was a little rigid compared to other fitness trampolines, though.
Frame construction - 4.5/5
Constructed with a sturdy frame, ONETWOFIT Fitness Trampoline Rebounder is built to last.
Safety features - 4/5
It comes with anti-slip rubber pads for protecting the floor and a T-shaped handlebar to help you stay balanced. Sadly, the bar was wobbly for me.
Noise level - 5/5
It was super quiet when I jumped on it! The ONETWOFIT is one of the best indoor trampolines for adults, in my view.
Portability - 3/5
This rebound exerciser is relatively lightweight and easy to move around. The bad news is it does not fold.
Assembly - 3/5
I won’t lie to you… This requires some strength.
Price - 4/5
For what it offers, I'd say it’s a reasonably priced mini trampoline.
SereneLife - Best Quiet Bounce Under $100
Specs
✔ Alloy steel frame; ✔ U-shaped handlebar; ✔ 3 bar levels (35’’ to 46’’); 200 lbs weight limit;
✔ Heavy-duty waterproof PP mat; ✔ Elastic bands; ✔ 1-year warranty;
My Rating - 4/5
This SereneLife rebounder trampoline is great if you need something affordable and the low weight limit of 200 lbs works for you. The handlebar was a bit wobbly in my tests and the assembly was challenging. But, in the end, I did get a great, quiet bounce for a small price. I recommend this mini trampoline to anyone who hates the noise some trampolines make but also wants a budget buy.
Amazon Rating: 4.4 out of 5 based on 1,374 reviews
Positive Reviews: "Pleasantly surprised with the sturdiness of this product. Color is pleasing to the eyes, pretty easy tos setup."
Negative Reviews: "Keep having to adjust the legs and balance bar because they move around while jumping."
Pros
Cons
Size and weight capacity - 4/5
This 40-inch mini trampoline provides enough jumping surface for most people, but it holds up to 200 lbs only.
Bounce quality - 4.5/5
SereneLife gave me a good bounce quality, even though it uses elastic bands.
Frame construction - 4/5
The frame is sturdy and well-built. But the bad part for me was the handlebar – it was really wobbly.
Safety features - 4/5
The SereneLife trampoline rebounder comes with a detachable foam-padded handlebar and a safety pad over the springs.
Noise level - 4.5/5
This mini rebounder trampoline was relatively quiet when I used it. I tried without music and it was still very quiet.
Portability - 5/5
The trampoline is lightweight, foldable, and comes with a bag for easy transport. I've no critique in this department.
Assembly - 3.5/5
It can be challenging to assemble, especially the elastic bands. I found those SO difficult to attach!
Price - 4.5/5
SereneLife rebounder trampoline for adults might not offer much in terms of features but it’s very affordable. I recommend it to beginners and people on a budget.
Bungee vs. Spring Mini Trampolines
Opting for a bungee trampoline means you'll enjoy a softer bounce, which is gentler on the joints. There are exceptions like the Cellerciser, which offers the best of both worlds. See what this means in the video below.
Other than that, a bungee mini trampoline is usually quiet. This makes it suitable for environments where noise is a concern. Keep in mind, however, that a bungee trampoline might need more frequent band replacements. I can't remember how many bungees I've bought over the years.
In contrast, a spring trampoline typically offers a stronger bounce. This makes it perfect for more intense workout sessions. It tends to be more durable and last longer, though it may generate more noise and the bounce could be more impactful on your joints.
Have a look at the table below for a quick comparison. You can read my complete breakdown of spring vs. bungee rebounders here.
Bungee Trampolines | Spring Trampolines | |
---|---|---|
Pros | Softer bounce, less joint stress | Stronger bounce, good for intense workouts |
Quiet operation | Longer lifespan due to durability | |
Cons | Frequent band replacement | Could be noisy during use |
Might not be suitable for high-intensity workouts | Bounce might be harder on the joints |
How to Choose the Right Size Rebounder
Standard sizes for mini trampolines are 36 inches, 38 inches, and 40 inches in diameter. However, there are larger options available, up to 48 inches. Your height can be a factor when choosing a rebounder because a larger surface will give you more space for your movements when exercising.
So, a taller person might feel more comfortable on a larger trampoline. BUT you don’t necessarily need a larger trampoline if you’re taller.
Another thing to consider is the weight capacity of the different models. You can find that in the comparison table of mini exercise trampolines.
Your goal should also be on the “which rebounder to buy” checklist. As Claire Lo Russo, founder of Carve It Fitness and Wellness says:
“If you want to do an at-home workout while watching some Netflix, you can get away with a smaller trampoline.”
But if you plan to do intense workouts, then it’s better to go for a bigger rebounder, to ensure more stability and enough surface for a wider range of movements.
How I Compared the Rebounders
In mine comprehensive comparison of these rebounders for exercise, I focused on answering the big questions you’ll have when buying this type of gear. Here's a short breakdown of what I considered:
Size and Weight Capacity
I compared the dimensions of the rebounders, taking into account the shape and the diameter of the jumping surface. The weight capacity of each rebounder was also my checklist. In my experience, a lot of times, size and weight capacity are linked and there is no one size fits all. As Meagan Morris, a certified personal trainer and the editor of Celebribody, says:
“Most rebounders should be able to handle up to 220 pounds, but some larger versions can support more weight.”
Bounce Quality
I evaluated the quality of the bounce by researching the material of the mat and the material of the springs. This aspect directly impacts your experience and even the effectiveness of your workout.
Frame Construction
The quality and durability of the frame are vital. Also, the size of the frame is a thing to consider, because the wider the frame - the more variety of exercise you can practice. I scrutinized the materials used, the thickness and strength of the frame, and the type and quality of the springs or bungee cords.
Safety Features
To examine the overall reliability of each model, I analysed the materials of the components and the shape and size of the rebounder trampoline. In addition, I checked for other features like non-slip mats, handlebars, and padded edges.
Noise Level
A quiet rebounder that won’t interfere with your fitness playlist or annoy your neighbours can be essential, especially in a shared living space. Noise is mostly created by the springs/cords of the device, so I assessed the noise level of each model and rated each exercise trampoline on that.
Assembly
I looked at how easy each rebounder was to assemble, since the base keeps the whole device together and that’s key for your safety. Also, that’s important if you consider taking your rebounder when traveling. So, clear instructions, simple processes, and provided tools were all positives.
Portability
I considered the weight of each rebounder and whether it could be easily moved or stored. Models that were foldable scored higher in this category.
Price
I compared the cost of each rebounder, looking at what you get for your money in terms of quality, features, and durability.
After carefully weighing all these factors, I wrote a review of each rebounder. My goal was to provide a thorough and honest overview to help you find the rebounder that best suits your needs and preferences.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are mini trampolines a good workout?
Rebounding has plenty of benefits for your health. It’s proven by NASA research that a rebounding trampoline workout can be as effective as jogging and gentler on the joints. Unless you’ve got a specific physical condition (e.g. osteoporosis, heart disease, varicose veins, etc.), mini trampoline workouts can be your best choice.
My experience says it's very efficient for weight loss. Also, it helps improve your balance, coordination, and heart health, all while strengthening your bones, and more. As the saying goes “If your workout is a bore, fitness feels like a chore.” That’s another plus of rebounding - it’s fun! Add some music to it and your workout routine will become your favorite time of the day.
What is the best exercise rebounder?
So, what is the best rebounder to buy?
When I consult people on buying a rebounder, I consider the following.
First, your choice should match your personal metrics – height, weight, fitness level, etc.
Next, the best trampoline for rebounding must check a few important boxes, such as the quality materials, high bounce quality, and easily replaceable parts.
Finally, a plus would be if it’s not noisy, it’s portable, and it has a handlebar, especially if you’re a beginner.
Based on these criteria and my research, the Cellerciser® is on the top of my list. I've tested other top mini trampoline brands and this is, I think, the best you can buy.
If you are on a budget, the BCAN 40/48 Inch Foldable Mini Trampoline checks most of the boxes on the list of requirements. Its size and weight capacity are versatile enough to be a good choice for most people. That's one of the mini trampolines I often recommend to people.
Another good option, especially for regular users, is the Ativafit 40” Fitness Trampoline. It offers a good and safe experience for the whole family at a reasonable price with the only con being the assembly.
What is the difference between a rebounder and a mini trampoline?
The terms are used interchangeably, as I have done in this article. However, if you truly want to make a distinction, you can say that mini trampolines are used for recreational purposes, like standard jumping. In contrast, rebounders are almost solely for fitness purposes.
As Nikki Gnozzio, a certified personal trainer and founder of Junction Bodyworks says:
"Rebounders are more typically what people are referring to when they talk about using a trampoline for fitness."
Rebounders typically have a lower bounce than regular or mini trampolines.
In summary, a mini trampoline may do a great job as a kid’s trampoline, but it may not be robust enough for regular and intense workouts. Your best bet is to use something that was built for purpose and is made of higher-quality materials.
Should I get a 40 or 48-inch rebounder?
If you intend to take your rebounder with you (travel, work, etc.), then I recommend a smaller diameter since it will be easier to carry around and put away. But if it’s only going to stay in one place, then go for a larger diameter for a more comfortable workout.
Claire and Scott from SanFran Fitness say:
“When we first started bouncing, we used 40-inch frames with foldable legs which were perfect for us at the time as we traveled around England running classes. We still use 40-inch frame models but our preference is 48-inch frames and above, purely due to the fact that we have more mat space to bounce on and most of our fitness classes take place in and around our gym.”
Another thing to consider is the space you have available. If you live in a flat and want your exercise rebounder trampoline to be compact and foldable, then the smaller size might be the better option for you.
What size mini trampoline is best for adults?
The size of your trampoline depends on a few individual criteria, such as your height and your weight. Usually, a 40-inch rebounder will be enough to support most users. In the comparison table above, you can find the size and weight capacity of each of the models I recommend.
